New Delhi: In a significant development, Sanjay Jaju has taken over the reins as the Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. A 1992-batch IAS officer from the Telangana cadre, Jaju brings a wealth of experience and a distinguished track record to his new role.
Upon assuming charge, Jaju was warmly welcomed by former Secretary, Apurva Chandra, and other officials of the Ministry, as well as various media units. The transition of responsibilities marks a pivotal moment for the Ministry, as it looks forward to continued efforts in the realm of information and broadcasting.
Jaju’s prior roles include serving as Additional Secretary to the Government of India from 2018 to 2023. His contributions and leadership during this period have been noteworthy, contributing to the success of various initiatives under the government’s purview. Before that, Jaju served as the Director of the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited from October 2014 to March 2018, showcasing his expertise in infrastructure development.
Notably, Jaju’s administrative journey includes a significant tenure as the Secretary to the Government of Andhra Pradesh, where he oversaw the Electronics, IT, and Communications Department from May 2011 to October 2014. His experience in both central and state government roles positions him well to navigate the multifaceted responsibilities of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
