75th Republic Day Celebration: Farmers Invited to Witness Parade at Kartavya Path

New Delhi: As India commemorates its 75th Republic Day, a special initiative has been undertaken to honor and celebrate the contributions of farmers. Distinguished guests from various fields will gather at Kartavya Path to witness the Republic Day parade, and among them, over 1500 farmers who are beneficiaries of central government schemes will have the privilege of being a part of this historic event.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare is extending a warm invitation to farmers who have benefited from initiatives such as Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana, among others. This initiative aims to recognize the invaluable role of farmers in the nation’s progress and express gratitude for their unwavering dedication.

To enhance the experience, a comprehensive training session is scheduled for the farmers on January 25, 2024. The session will cover key government initiatives, including AIF (Agriculture Infrastructure Fund), M&T (Market and Trade), National Seeds Cooperation, and Per Drop More Crop. Additionally, a field visit to the prestigious PUSA Campus is planned, providing farmers with valuable insights into modern agricultural practices.

On the Republic Day, January 26, 2024, the special invitees will gather at Kartavya Path to witness the grand parade. The celebration continues with a special program at Subramaniam Hall, PUSA, where Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Tribal Affairs, Shri Arjun Munda, will express his gratitude to the farmers. The event will highlight the pivotal role of the agricultural community in bolstering the nation’s economy and reaffirm the government’s commitment to supporting them through various schemes.

Post the address, farmers will have the unique opportunity for a photo session with ministers and dignitaries, creating lasting memories of this momentous occasion. The celebration will culminate with a curated lunch, symbolizing the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare’s dedication to development and the recognition of the relentless efforts of the agricultural community. This initiative stands as a testament to the government’s commitment to acknowledging the backbone of the nation – the farmers.
