Odisha Manaska Circle Discusses Digital Identity and Cyber Trust

Bhubaneswar, 31 August: The 21st edition of the Odisha Manaska Circle, a monthly dialogue series organised by All Things Odisha, was held yesterday with an engaging discussion on “Who Are We Online? Identity, Trust and Life in the Digital World.” Around 15 participants from diverse professional and social backgrounds attended the interactive session.

The discussion was led by Chandra Sekhar Biswal, technopreneur and cybersecurity expert, who spoke about the rapidly changing nature of digital life and the growing importance of safeguarding one’s online identity. He highlighted issues ranging from cybersecurity threats and online fraud to digital privacy, misinformation and the role of trust in an increasingly networked society.

21st edition of Odisha Manaska by All Things Odisha

Participants actively engaged in conversations around responsible digital citizenship, online behaviour and the everyday challenges of navigating cyberspace safely. The intimate format of the Odisha Manaska Circle encouraged open dialogue and the sharing of personal experiences related to technology and digital security.

The session also featured reflections from fellows of the Safe Odisha for Her, who shared insights from their work on gender, technology and digital inclusion. Their experiences added an important social dimension to the discussion, highlighting how digital spaces influence access, participation and safety.

The event was moderated by Sandip Bal and Sonali Priyadarsini, founders of All Things Odisha, who reiterated the importance of creating public spaces where citizens can engage with contemporary issues through informed discussion.

The Odisha Manaska Circle is a monthly initiative that promotes meaningful conversations on social, cultural and public policy issues affecting Odisha and beyond.
