New Delhi: The 18th BRIGS Military Nursing Service (MNS) Work Study Conference was held on January 3-4, 2025, under the aegis of the Adjutant General and DGMS (Army) at the Army Hospital (Research & Referral) in New Delhi. Themed “Capability Building & Competency in Nursing,” the conference brought together key stakeholders to discuss pressing issues and challenges in nursing administration within the Military Nursing Service.
The event was chaired by Maj Gen Ignatius Delos Flora, Additional DGMNS, and served as a platform for deliberating strategies to enhance the administration and practice of MNS officers in the face of evolving healthcare needs and technological advancements.
In anticipation of the Military Nursing Service’s Centenary Celebration (2025-2026), DGMS (Army) & Senior Colonel Commandant Lt Gen Sadhna S Nair unveiled the official logo and slogan for the milestone event. The slogan, “Honouring the Past, Healing the Present & Inspiring the Future,” underscores the enduring legacy and forward-looking vision of the MNS.
The conference, held annually since 2006, serves as a vital forum for addressing nursing-related issues that directly influence comprehensive patient care. Discussions at this year’s event highlighted the challenges posed by globalization, advancements in science and technology, and the need for MNS officers to adapt nursing practices to evolving healthcare demands.
Lt Gen Sadhna S Nair emphasized the importance of such conferences in fostering innovation and competency within the MNS, ensuring that nursing practices remain relevant and aligned with contemporary healthcare needs.
As the MNS approaches its centenary year, the service continues to uphold its tradition of excellence in patient care, training, and nursing administration.
