Workshop on Water Use Efficiency Held in New Delhi: A Collaborative Step Towards a Sustainable Future

New Delhi: The Bureau of Water Use Efficiency (BWUE) under the National Water Mission (NWM), Ministry of Jal Shakti, in collaboration with the Indian Plumbing Association (IPA), organized a one-day workshop titled “Water Use Efficiency: Strategies for a Sustainable Future” at the NDMC Convention Centre, Palika Kendra, Sansad Marg. The event focused on the domestic water sector and brought together over 350 participants, including policymakers, industry leaders, experts, and stakeholders.

The workshop was inaugurated by the Union Minister of Jal Shakti, C R Patil, who underscored the government’s commitment to water conservation through innovative and collaborative efforts. He emphasized the urgent need for sustainable water use practices in the domestic sector, aligning with the nation’s vision for water security and environmental sustainability.

    A keynote address by the Secretary, Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation (DoWR, RD&GR), Ministry of Jal Shakti, highlighted critical policy initiatives and stressed the importance of multi-sectoral partnerships to enhance water use efficiency.
  2. Technological Advancements in Water Efficiency
    The workshop showcased the pivotal role of low-flow fixtures and smart sanitary ware solutions in reducing water consumption in urban and domestic landscapes.     The event featured multiple sessions aimed at sharing insights and case studies:

    An interactive session with C R Patil provided a platform for prominent figures from water-related industries to discuss the integration of water-efficient technologies into their products and designs. This interaction fostered a collaborative approach to water stewardship, with participants sharing experiences, ideas, and challenges.
