Weather Update: Snowfall and Rainfall Expected in North-West India

New Delhi:  The Indian Meteorological Department has forecasted continued snowfall in hilly areas and rain in plain areas of North-West India for the next two days. According to the latest updates, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan are likely to experience rainfall activity on February 5, 2024.

The weather in Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh is expected to turn mainly dry from February 7, 2024. The Meteorological Department also mentioned a drop in minimum temperatures by two to four degrees Celsius over the plains of Northwest India during the next three days.

Today, rain and snow were reported in various regions, including Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. Rain occurred at most places in Haryana, at many places in Punjab and Western Uttar Pradesh, and at a few places in West Rajasthan. Isolated places in East Uttar Pradesh and East Rajasthan also witnessed rainfall.

Delhi experienced a generally cloudy sky today, accompanied by a few spells of rain. The maximum temperature in the capital hovered around 20 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature was recorded at approximately 12 degrees Celsius.

Residents in these regions are advised to stay informed about the weather updates and take necessary precautions as per the forecasted conditions.
