Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma Welcome Baby Boy Akaay

Mumbai:  Indian cricket maestro Virat Kohli and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma shared joyous news with their fans on Tuesday, announcing the birth of their second child, a baby boy named Akaay. The couple expressed their happiness in a heartfelt statement posted by Anushka Sharma on her Instagram account.

“With abundant happiness and our hearts full of love, we are pleased to inform everyone that on 15th February, we welcomed our baby boy Akaay, Vamika’s little brother, into this world!” the statement read.

The proud parents sought blessings and good wishes from their well-wishers during this joyous time in their lives. They also requested everyone to respect their privacy at this special moment.

“Love & Gratitude. Virat & Anushka,” concluded the statement.

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma tied the knot in 2017 in a private ceremony attended by close family and friends. The celebrity couple celebrated their daughter Vamika’s third birthday on January 11, 2021.

Notably, in 2021, Virat Kohli prioritized family commitments and returned home after the first Test of a 4-match series against Australia to be with Anushka during the birth of their first child. The Indian captain initially withdrew from the first two Tests against England, and later, from the entire series, citing personal reasons. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) supported Kohli’s decision, emphasizing the importance of family commitments.

Fans and well-wishers flooded social media with congratulatory messages for Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma as they embark on this new chapter of parenthood with the arrival of baby Akaay.
