Mumbai: AB de Villiers, former South Africa cricket captain, has officially confirmed the rumours surrounding Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma’s pregnancy. The cricket icon disclosed the news on his YouTube channel, putting an end to the speculation about Anushka and her close friend Virat Kohli expecting their second child later this year.
During a Question & Answer session with his social media followers, de Villiers responded to a question about Kohli, taking the opportunity to reveal the exciting news to the world.
“I did text him, hear from him. I cannot give too much information; all I know is he’s fine and spending a bit of time with his family. That’s the reason for missing the first few Test matches against England. His second child is on the way, it’s family time,” de Villiers shared while reading excerpts from his recent text chat with Kohli.
This confirmation comes after months of speculations and rumors circulating in the media about Anushka Sharma’s pregnancy. The couple already has a daughter named Vamika, born in January 2021. Kohli, the Indian cricket team captain, had taken paternity leave to be present for Vamika’s birth.
As the news of the second child circulates, fans and well-wishers are expressing their joy and sending warm wishes to the couple. Virat Kohli is expected to join the Indian team after spending quality family time before returning to competitive cricket.
