Vinesh Phogat Secures Paris 2024 Olympic Quota

New Delhi: Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat cemented her path to the Paris 2024 Olympics by securing a quota after a commanding victory over Kazakhstan’s Laura Ganikyzy in the women’s 50kg semifinal at the Asian Olympic qualifier on Saturday.

The Asian Games and Commonwealth champion, Vinesh Phogat, exhibited her prowess on the mat as she dominated her opponent, Laura Ganikyzy, with a resounding 10-0 victory. Phogat’s victory came via technical superiority, achieving the win in just 4 minutes and 18 seconds.

With this emphatic triumph, Vinesh Phogat has not only secured her place in the Paris 2024 Olympics but has also reaffirmed her status as one of India’s premier wrestling talents.
