Paris: Indian wrestling sensation Vinesh Phogat has advanced to the finals of the women’s 50kg freestyle event at the Paris Olympics 2024, securing a medal for India. Phogat achieved this milestone with a decisive 5-0 victory over Cuba’s Yusneylis Guzman.
The match saw Vinesh Phogat taking an early lead, ending the first period 1-0 as Guzman conceded a point due to passivity. Demonstrating her dominance, Phogat maintained her lead and added four more points in the second period to seal her place in the finals.
