
New Delhi: Vikram Dev Dutt, a 1993-batch IAS officer of the Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram and Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre, assumed the role of Secretary of the Ministry of Coal today. Before this appointment, Dutt held the position of Director General of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), where he oversaw key developments in India’s aviation sector.
Dutt succeeds Shri VL Kantha Rao, who was serving as the Secretary of the Ministry of Mines while holding additional charge of the Ministry of Coal. Before Rao, Shri Amrit Lal Meena had served as the Secretary of the Ministry of Coal.
