Utkarsh Odisha Conclave Concludes with ₹16.73 Lakh Crore Investment Commitments and Vision for a Prosperous Future

Bhubaneswar: The Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025 concluded on a resounding note, securing an unprecedented ₹16.73 lakh crore in investment commitments across 593 projects, with the potential to create 12.88 lakh jobs across more than 20 sectors. The event marked a transformative milestone for Odisha, positioning the state as a premier destination for industrial growth and investment.

During the two-day conclave, 145 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth ₹12.89 lakh crore were signed across key sectors, including chemicals and petrochemicals, textiles, mining and metallurgy, renewable energy, IT/ITeS, tourism, and food processing. Additionally, 448 investment intent forms were received, reflecting ₹3.84 lakh crore in proposed investments with the potential to generate 3.92 lakh jobs.

CM Majhi: “Odisha is Ready to Lead India’s Industrial Growth”

Speaking at the valedictory session, Odisha Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi expressed immense pride in the event’s success, emphasizing that Odisha is now at the forefront of India’s industrial revolution.

“As we conclude the Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025, I stand here filled with happiness, pride, and gratitude. Over these two days, I have had the privilege to interact with the brightest minds in the business world, and I can confidently say that this time has been well spent,” he remarked.

He assured investors that the government is committed to fostering a business-friendly environment, stating, “The enthusiasm and great interest shown by investors are truly encouraging. We have also noted the concerns raised, and our government will take necessary steps to further improve the ease of doing business in Odisha.”

The Chief Minister highlighted Odisha’s ambition to become the gateway to Southeast Asia, with participation from 16 countries, including partner nations Singapore, Malaysia, and Australia. He urged global investors to make Odisha their export hub and assured them of the state’s unwavering support.

Government’s Commitment to Fast-Tracking Investments

Recognizing the importance of swift implementation, CM Majhi announced the creation of a dedicated mechanism to ensure the timely execution of MoUs. “We will ensure that there are no cost or time overruns. My office will always be accessible to you, and I am just a phone call away,” he assured industry leaders.

The government will also continuously engage with investors, welcoming fresh ideas and proposals to strengthen Odisha’s business ecosystem. “This is not the end but the beginning of a new journey towards prosperity,” he stated.

Focus on Skilled Workforce, Sustainability, and Entrepreneurship

CM Majhi highlighted key insights gained from sessions on Skilled in Odisha, Women Entrepreneurship, and Start-Up Odisha, noting that these discussions provided actionable strategies to enhance Odisha’s industrial ecosystem.

He reiterated the state’s focus on sustainability, including green energy, circular economy practices, and renewable technologies. “Beyond infrastructure and policies, we are building an economy that prioritizes environmental responsibility and long-term growth,” he added.

Recognizing Young Entrepreneurs as Catalysts for Change

As part of the event, 60 young entrepreneurs under the age of 40 were felicitated for their resilience, determination, and innovative contributions to Odisha’s economy. “They are role models, inspiring the next generation to embrace entrepreneurship, create jobs, and drive economic transformation,” CM Majhi said.

Odisha’s Vision: Viksit Bharat 2047 & Purvodaya

The Chief Minister reaffirmed Odisha’s commitment to India’s Purvodaya vision, contributing to national growth through skilled workforce development, world-class infrastructure, and MSME empowerment. “We are ready to lead India’s industrial transformation and invite all stakeholders to be part of this journey,” he asserted.

He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his visionary leadership, stating, “Under Modi Ji’s guidance, India has surged to become the world’s fifth-largest economy, and soon, we will be the third-largest. Odisha is proud to be a part of this journey.”

Expressing gratitude to PM Modi and all stakeholders involved, CM Majhi emphasized Odisha’s readiness to welcome industries with open arms. “Let us collaborate to turn these commitments into transformative projects that will shape the future of Odisha and contribute to India’s growth story,” he urged.

In his concluding remarks, he called for collective action: “Together, let us build a Samrudh Odisha that fulfills the aspirations of every Odia and contributes to a Viksit Bharat 2047. This is the right time.”

The event also saw addresses from Deputy Chief Minister Shri Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, Deputy Chief Minister Smt. Prabhati Parida, Minister for Industry, Skill Development & Technical Education Shri Sampad Chandra Swain, and Additional Chief Secretary Shri Hemanta Sharma, reaffirming Odisha’s commitment to economic transformation.
