Bhubaneswar: In an effort to showcase and promote Odisha’s rich handloom and handicraft traditions, a special exhibition-cum-sale of authentic artisanal products has been launched by Utkalika at DN Regalia Mall in Bhubaneswar.
The exhibition stall was inaugurated by the Managing Director and Vice-President of Utkalika in the presence of officials, artisans and art enthusiasts. The exhibition features a wide range of traditional handloom fabrics and handicraft items that highlight the state’s diverse cultural heritage and the exceptional skills of Odisha’s artisan communities.
Organisers said the initiative aims to bring Odisha’s traditional crafts closer to urban consumers while creating greater market opportunities for weavers and handicraft artisans. The exhibition showcases products crafted using age-old techniques that have been passed down through generations.
Visitors can explore an exclusive collection of handwoven textiles, ethnic apparel, decorative handicrafts and other heritage products representing various craft traditions of the state.
To mark the festive occasions of Raja and Ratha Yatra, Utkalika has announced special discounts for customers. Handloom products are being offered at a combined discount of 30 per cent, including a 20 per cent promotional discount and an additional 10 per cent concession. Handicraft items are available at a 10 per cent discount during the exhibition period.
The exhibition will remain open to the public until July 16, coinciding with the Ratha Yatra celebrations. Officials expressed hope that the event would help increase awareness and appreciation of Odisha’s traditional crafts while supporting the livelihoods of local artisans.
Utkalika has invited customers, craft lovers and visitors to explore the exhibition and experience the artistic excellence and cultural richness embodied in Odisha’s handlooms and handicrafts.
