Usha Padhee Reviews Grassroots Projects, Interacts with SHGs in Jagatsinghpur

Bhubaneswar: In a focused effort to strengthen grassroots development and promote community empowerment, Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary of the Housing and Urban Development and Commerce and Transport Department, embarked on a two-day visit to Jagatsinghpur district. Her visit aims to assess ongoing projects, engage directly with beneficiaries, and ensure effective implementation of welfare initiatives.

On the first day, Padhee visited Bayan Gram in Raghunathpur block, where she interacted with local artisans to understand their working conditions, challenges, and resource needs. She encouraged them to explore government support schemes and adopt sustainable practices to improve their livelihoods.

Later, at Amrita Dairy Farm, she met with women members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs). Emphasizing the importance of financial independence, Padhee urged them to take full advantage of government-backed livelihood initiatives. She appreciated their efforts and discussed potential strategies to enhance income generation through dairy and allied activities.

The visit was marked by the presence of key district officials, including District Collector J. Sonal, Additional District Collector Sambit Kumar Rout, Chief Development and Executive Officer Ravi Narayan Jethi, BDO Raghunathpur, and representatives from Mission Shakti.

On the second day, Padhee is scheduled to inspect urban infrastructure at Paradip Port and hold consultations with the Municipal Council in the morning. In the afternoon, she will review the district’s development indicators and the progress of ongoing projects during a meeting with senior officers at the Collector’s office.
