Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya Holds Key Consultations on Employment Linked Incentive Scheme

New Delhi: As part of a series of stakeholder consultations, Union Minister for Labour & Employment and Youth Affairs & Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, chaired an introductory meeting today with representatives from Employers’ Organisations to discuss the Employment Linked Incentive (ELI) Scheme. The meeting, held in New Delhi, was attended by Union Minister of State for Labour & Employment, Shobha Karandlaje, Secretary (L&E) Sumita Dawra, and senior officials from the ministry.

In his address, Dr. Mandaviya highlighted the significance of the ELI Scheme, emphasizing it as a critical step toward generating employment and fostering a more prosperous and inclusive India. He stressed that the scheme’s success would depend on collaborative efforts between the government, businesses, and workers.

“Employment generation is a top priority for the government, and the ELI Scheme is a step in the right direction to achieve this goal. We are committed to working closely with stakeholders to design a scheme that is robust, inclusive, and aligned with the needs of the economy,” stated Dr. Mandaviya.

The minister invited suggestions from the participating organizations regarding the scheme’s formulation, underscoring the government’s dedication to creating meaningful and sustainable jobs for the youth. Dr. Mandaviya noted that continuous consultations with employers are essential to ensure the scheme’s effectiveness and alignment with industry needs.

Secretary (L&E), Sumita Dawra, provided an overview of the ELI scheme’s components, reiterating the government’s commitment to job creation. She also addressed other issues concerning labor welfare and employment generation. During the meeting, a detailed presentation on the ELI scheme was made, highlighting its key features and goals.

Representatives from various Employer Organisations, including CII, FICCI, ASSOCHAM, PHDCCI, and others, shared their perspectives on the ELI scheme and discussed labor welfare measures being implemented by the government. Dr. Mandaviya assured the participants that such consultations would be an ongoing process, with the government seeking their valuable input to ensure policies promote fairness, inclusivity, and equitable growth.
