Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan Inaugurates IIM Mumbai and IIM Sambalpur Centre for Management Education in NALCO Training Institute, Angul

Angul: The Union Minister for Education, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Dharmendra Pradhan, inaugurated the Centre of Management Education, a collaborative effort of IIM Mumbai and IIM Sambalpur, at the NALCO Training Institute in Angul. The inauguration ceremony, attended by Shri Sridhar Patra, CMD, NALCO, marked a significant step toward enhancing management education and skills development in the region.

Addressing the gathering, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan emphasized Angul’s industrial significance and its reputation for coal production. He highlighted the ongoing development of rail and road infrastructure, aligning with the PM Gati Shakti program. The newly inaugurated Centre of Management Education is strategically positioned to enhance logistics and supply chain activities through digitization and the development of specialized skills among employees in the industrial sector.

The Centre, located in the NALCO Campus at Angul, aims to meet the skill demands of the logistics sector in the state. While benefiting Angul and Dhenkanal districts, it is designed to cater to industries across Odisha. Offering courses ranging from three and six months on Logistics and Operation to a one-year Executive Post Graduate Course, the Centre has collaborated with industries to design a course structure aligned with current needs. Future courses will be introduced based on evolving industry requirements.

Two leading Public Sector Enterprises, NALCO and MCL, have played a pivotal role in supporting this initiative. MCL has signed an agreement and selected forty executives per batch for the course, while NALCO has provided infrastructure support, including classrooms, offices, accommodation, and logistics.

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan highlighted the special emphasis the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, places on various aspects to make the country developed in the next 25 years. He acknowledged the positive impact of mining policy reforms on districts like Angul and Dhenkanal.

This initiative is expected to contribute significantly to the development of the logistics sector in various districts, including Angul, Dhenkanal, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, and Cuttack.
