
New Delhi: Union Minister for Education, Dharmendra Pradhan, addressed the 20th Foundation Day of the National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions (NCMEI) today in New Delhi.
In his speech, Dharmendra Pradhan emphasized the significance of the rights enshrined in the Indian Constitution for minorities as the nation celebrates 75 years of the Constitution’s adoption. He highlighted the pivotal role of the NCMEI in facilitating positive change through education and promoting inclusivity.
The Minister praised the Government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for implementing initiatives such as providing housing, bank accounts, gas cylinders, and free rations to underprivileged citizens. He reiterated the mantra of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” as a guiding principle for inclusive development.
Pradhan underscored the urgent need to implement the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in its entirety. He urged minority institutions to actively contribute to the policy’s execution, emphasizing skill development and initiatives like the Academic Bank of Credit, National Credit Framework (NCRF), and other educational reforms.
In his vision for India’s future, the Minister stressed that India’s leadership in the 21st-century knowledge-based economy will be possible only through collective efforts. He highlighted how India’s inclusive society can serve as a model for solutions to global challenges.
The Union Minister commended the NCMEI for its dedication and reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to the welfare of all communities, irrespective of caste or religion.
The event was attended by key figures, including Chairperson of the National Commission for Minorities, Iqbal Singh Lalpura, and prominent personalities like Prof. (Dr) Faizan Mustafa, Dr Imam Umer Ahmed Ilyasi, Upadhyaya Ravindra Muni, Dr Bhikkhu Dhammapal Maha Thero, and Archbishop Raphy Manjaly.
