Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw Launches Annual Capacity Building Plan for Railways, Communications, and Electronics & IT

New Delhi: The Union Minister for Railways, Communications, and Electronics & IT, Ashwini Vaishnaw, inaugurated the Annual Capacity Building Plan designed for the Ministry of Railways, Communications, and Electronics & IT. The strategic plan focuses on enhancing workforce capabilities, aligning with National Priorities, Emerging Technologies, and Citizen-Centric initiatives. The launch event witnessed the participation of over 1000 employees from Railways, Post offices, BSNL, and Common Service Centres (CSC).

During the event held at Rail Bhawan, employees from various departments shared their experiences with the iGoT Karmayogi training. They highlighted how the training had positively influenced their capabilities, mindset, and overall performance, enabling them to better deliver government services to the public.

Congratulating the employees on their performance in Mission Karmayogi, Union Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw emphasized the need for a solution-oriented mindset. He stressed the impact of thoughts on actions and urged the workforce to approach challenges with a proactive mindset. He encouraged employees to aim for higher objectives and work collaboratively towards achieving a ‘Viksit Bharat’ or developed India by 2047.

Jaya Varma Sinha, Chairperson, Railway Board, expressed pride in being part of the Annual Capacity Building Plan. She highlighted the importance of robust training for Indian Railways, being the largest civil employer, to enhance service delivery. The Annual Capacity Building Plan for Railways, developed in collaboration with the Railway Board, identifies tasks, maps competencies, and outlines requirements for holistic development at both the individual and organizational levels.

Secretaries from the Department of Telecommunication and MEITY (Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology) emphasized the dynamic and role-based nature of training. They expressed the commitment to make training more vibrant, ensuring it remains an ongoing process aligned with evolving work profiles and national priorities.

The Secretary, Department of Posts, highlighted their proactive involvement in training initiatives, including the launch of the ‘Dak Karmayogi Portal.’ Over 1.25 lakh staff participated in role-based improvement training, emphasizing technology-enabled workforce development and on-demand training through knowledge experts.

The Annual Capacity Building Plan aims to create a skilled and adaptive workforce, aligning with the evolving needs of the Railways, Communications, and Electronics & IT sectors. The comprehensive plan seeks to strengthen the foundation for a progressive and developed India.
