
Cuttack: The Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Cuttack roared to life as the second edition of Ultimate Kho Kho commenced with a spectacular opening ceremony on Sunday.
A multitude of fervent fans gathered to witness the kick-off of Ultimate Kho Kho Season 2, a league that garnered immense popularity in its debut season. Conceived by Amit Burman in collaboration with the Kho Kho Federation of India, the league secured its position as India’s third-largest non-cricket league in terms of television viewership, marking a significant milestone in the sports arena. Notably, Ultimate Kho Kho also made history by becoming the first Indian sports league to secure Series A funding from the UK-based BNP Group.
The highly anticipated inauguration of Season 2 was graced by the presence of Tenzing Niyogi, CEO & League Commissioner of Ultimate Kho Kho, Sudhanshu Mittal, President of the Kho Kho Federation of India, Tusharkanti Behera, Sports Minister of Odisha, and Indian women’s kho kho team captain Nasreen Shaikh.
Adding glamour to the occasion, representatives of the six franchises attended the flashy opening ceremony. Srinath Chittoori (Chennai Quick Guns), Vinay Singh (Gujarat Giants), Punit Balan (Mumbai Khiladis), Ranjit Parida (Odisha Juggernauts), Jigar Shah (Rajasthan Warriors), and PKSV Sagar (Telugu Yoddhas) were present to mark the beginning of an action-packed season.
