New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the UGC-NET June 2024 Examination in OMR (pen and paper) mode on June 18, 2024, in two shifts across various cities in India. However, recent developments have prompted a significant decision regarding the examination.
On June 19, 2024, the University Grants Commission (UGC) received inputs from the National Cyber Crime Threat Analytics Unit of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) under the Ministry of Home Affairs. These inputs suggest that the integrity of the examination might have been compromised.
In light of these concerns, the Ministry of Education, Government of India, has decided to cancel the UGC-NET June 2024 Examination to uphold the highest level of transparency and sanctity in the examination process. A fresh examination will be scheduled, with details to be announced separately.
Furthermore, the Ministry has handed over the matter to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for a thorough investigation to ensure accountability and prevent such occurrences in the future.
