New Delhi: In response to numerous representations and to facilitate a smoother process, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has decided to extend the deadline for claiming pending dues. The initial deadline of February 8, 2024, has now been extended to April 8, 2024, providing stakeholders, including universities, colleges, and fellowship recipients, with additional time.
Stakeholders, including individuals and fellows, are encouraged to claim their pending dues, encompassing pre-revised and revised fellowship, house rent allowance, and any other admissible contingency payments up to December 2021. The claims can be submitted through the Scholarship Fellowship Management Portal (SFMP) by the extended deadline of April 8, 2024.
It is important to note that for scholarship nodal officers who have already claimed pre-revised fellowship, no further action is required on their part to claim arrears due to the revision in fellowship rates.
After April 8, 2024, the UGC will not entertain any claims pertaining to the period up to December 2023. UGC urged stakeholders to take advantage of this extended deadline and ensure the timely submission of their claims for a smooth and efficient process.
