
Bhubaneswar: Two Odia writers have been selected to receive the prestigious Kendra Sahitya Akademi awards for the year 2024. Sanjay Kumar Panda and Manas Ranjan Samal will be honoured for their significant contributions to Odia literature.
Sanjay Kumar Panda will be awarded the Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar for his book “Hu Baia,” a compelling collection of Odia short stories. The Yuva Puraskar recognizes and encourages young writers for their talent and potential in literature.
Manas Ranjan Samal has been selected for the Kendra Sahitya Akademi Bal Sahitya Puraskar for his book “Gapa Kalika,” a collection of short stories aimed at young readers. This award celebrates outstanding contributions to children’s literature.
The announcement was made by the Kendra Sahitya Akademi following its executive body meeting on Saturday.
