
Bhubaneswar: As the excitement builds ahead of the India vs England ODI scheduled for February 9, Commissioner of Police S. Dev Datta Singh assured that the Twin City Commissionerate Police is fully prepared for the event. A total of 50 platoons of police force will be deployed to ensure comprehensive security for the high-profile match, which will be held at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack.
Singh conducted an in-depth review of the security arrangements at the Police Seva Bhawan, outlining a strategic plan for crowd control, traffic management, and player security. Senior police officers will continuously monitor and assess security protocols throughout the event. Special attention has been given to route lining for the smooth movement of players and match officials.
The meeting also included key stakeholders such as senior police officials, office bearers of the Odisha Cricket Association, officials from the Airports Authority of India (AAI), CISF, and other relevant parties. Together, they discussed the detailed security framework in place for the ODI match.
Players from both teams will arrive in Bhubaneswar on February 7 and will stay at the Mayfair Hotel. The teams will conduct their practice sessions at the Barabati Stadium, Cuttack, on February 8, in preparation for the match.
This will be the first international match at Barabati Stadium in nearly three years, with the last one being a T20I between India and South Africa in 2022. The highly anticipated ODI is expected to attract significant attention, and all efforts are being made to ensure the safety and smooth conduct of the event.
With the combined efforts of the police and various authorities, the preparations are in place to make the India vs England ODI a memorable and secure experience for players and fans alike.
