Train Diversions Announced for Cuttack Station Air Concourse Construction; Free Bus Service for Passengers

Bhubaneswar: In view of the construction of an Air Concourse and other modernization and safety-related works at Cuttack Railway Station under the Khurda Road Division of East Coast Railway (ECoR), three long-distance trains will be temporarily diverted for a month.

From February 16 to March 17, 2025, these trains will be rerouted via Barang-Naraj Marthapur-Kapilas Road instead of the usual Barang-Cuttack-Kapilas Road route. As a result, Cuttack Railway Station will not serve as a stop for these trains during this period. However, a temporary stoppage will be provided at Naraj Marthapur Railway Station to accommodate passengers.

To minimize inconvenience, the Khurda Road Division of ECoR will provide free bus services between Cuttack Railway Station and Naraj Marthapur Railway Station for passengers traveling on these diverted trains.

The affected trains include:

  • 12515 Coimbatore-Silchar Weekly Super-Fast Express, arriving at Cuttack every Tuesday (Monday late night), from February 16 to March 16, 2025.
  • 22643 Ernakulam-Patna Bi-Weekly Express, arriving at Cuttack on Wednesdays and Thursdays (late night of Tuesday & Wednesday).
  • 12509 Bengaluru-Guwahati Tri-Weekly Express, arriving at Cuttack on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays (late night of Thursday, Friday & Saturday).

Passengers who were scheduled to board or alight at Cuttack Railway Station for these trains will be provided with free bus transportation to and from Naraj Marthapur Railway Station throughout the diversion period.

This temporary change is part of the ongoing efforts to modernize Cuttack Railway Station, ensuring improved facilities and safety measures for passengers in the long run. The East Coast Railway has urged passengers to plan their journeys accordingly and make use of the alternative arrangements provided.
