
Nayagarh: A devastating road accident occurred in the Daspalla area of Odisha’s Nayagarh district late on Friday night, resulting in the loss of three girl students’ lives and leaving 11 others critically injured. The unfortunate incident unfolded when a bus carrying more than 50 students from a Daspalla-based coaching centre collided head-on with a truck.
The students were en route to Harishankar and Nrusinghanath in Balangir district for a picnic when the accident transpired near Buguda on the Shalabhanga forest road, falling under the jurisdiction of Daspalla police station.
Emergency services rushed to the scene, and the injured were promptly transported to nearby hospitals for immediate medical attention. Four students were taken to Daspalla Hospital, while seven others were admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) at Nayagarh.
Daspalla MLA Ramesh Chandra Behera visited the hospital to meet with the injured students and assess the situation. The local authorities are conducting investigations to determine the exact cause of the tragic collision. The entire community is mourning the loss of young lives and extending support to the affected families during this difficult time.
