Traffic Restrictions Announced for DG and IGP Conference in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police Bhubaneswar-Cuttack has issued an advisory regarding public movement and traffic restrictions in view of the all-India Directors General (DG) and Inspectors General (IGP) Conference. The high-profile event, scheduled to be held at the Convention Centre, Lok Seva Bhavan, from November 29 to December 1, will see the participation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and other dignitaries.

Traffic Restrictions
To ensure the safety of VIPs and VVIPs and maintain smooth traffic flow, Commissioner of Police Suresh Dev Datta Singh announced the following restrictions:

  • Vehicle movement will be prohibited on the stretch from Airport Residential Chhak to T Junction (Pani Tanki Chhak), including its connecting lanes and bylanes, during specified hours on November 28 and 29.
  • Citizens are advised to plan their travel in advance to avoid congestion and disruptions in restricted areas.

The restrictions have been imposed under Section 28 of the Odisha Urban Police Act, 2003, and Regulation 36 of the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commissionerate (Traffic and Public Order) Regulations, 2008.

The Commissionerate Police has urged citizens to cooperate during this period and follow alternative routes for their convenience. Additional personnel will be deployed to manage traffic and ensure public safety throughout the event.

The conference, which will bring together top police officials from across the country, necessitates heightened security measures. The advisory highlights the police’s commitment to maintaining both security and public convenience during this significant event.

For updates and specific timings, the public is advised to stay informed through official communication channels.
