New Delhi: Health authorities have identified a young male patient as a suspected case of Mpox (monkeypox) after he recently returned from a country currently experiencing Mpox transmission. The patient has been isolated in a designated hospital, where his condition is reported as stable.
Samples have been collected from the patient and are being tested to confirm the presence of Mpox. In line with established protocols, health officials are conducting contact tracing to assess potential exposure and contain any further spread.
The case aligns with previous risk assessments made by the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), which had anticipated isolated travel-related cases of Mpox. Authorities stress that there is no cause for undue concern, as the country is fully prepared to manage such cases. Robust measures, including isolation protocols and rapid testing, are in place to mitigate any potential risk to public health.
Further updates will be provided as test results become available. The health ministry continues to urge citizens to remain vigilant and follow recommended safety guidelines.
