Sunrisers Hyderabad Sets IPL Record with Massive Victory over Mumbai Indians

Hyderabad: In a thrilling encounter at the Indian Premier League, Sunrisers Hyderabad clinched a spectacular victory against Mumbai Indians during the 8th Match held at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Setting an IPL record, Sunrisers Hyderabad placed a daunting target of 277 runs for the loss of 3 wickets. With this remarkable win, Sunrisers Hyderabad soared to the third position in the group league standings.

The match witnessed an extraordinary display of batting prowess, with the fastest fifty record for the franchise being broken twice. Travis Head set the tone by smashing a blistering 18-ball fifty, followed by Abhishek Sharma’s lightning-quick 16-ball half-century.

This outstanding performance by the Hyderabad-based franchise shattered the long-standing record previously held by Royal Challengers Bangalore, establishing the highest-ever total in the history of the IPL. Additionally, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s monumental score of 277 runs also ranks as the third-highest total in the history of T20 cricket.

Facing the mammoth challenge, Mumbai Indians put up a valiant effort, managing to score 246 runs in their allotted 20 overs. However, it wasn’t quite enough to chase down the imposing target set by Sunrisers Hyderabad.
