Goa: The second edition of India Energy Week 2024 concluded today in Goa with a resounding success, featuring an announcement for the next edition to be held at Yashobhoomi in New Delhi from February 11-14, 2025. Union Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas and Housing & Urban Affairs Shri Hardeep Singh Puri shared this exciting news during the closing ceremony, emphasizing the global nature of the event.

Shri Puri further disclosed that the fourth edition of the global energy conclave in 2026 will return to Goa at the IPSHEM-ONGC Training Institute, marking a commitment to continued collaboration in the energy sector.

Inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the four-day event showcased global oil, gas, biofuels, and renewable companies, providing a platform for collaboration and innovation across the energy spectrum.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Union Minister Shri Hardeep Singh Puri commended the organizers for the immensely successful execution of the global energy conclave. He highlighted a 30% increase in exhibitors compared to the inaugural session last year, covering an extensive area of over 18,000 square meters.

Shri Puri announced that the third edition, India Energy Week 2025, will take place at Yashobhoomi, India’s largest convention and exhibition center located in Dwarka, New Delhi. The Union Minister expressed his confidence that the event will continue to grow and serve as a prominent platform for collaboration.

The success of the event was underscored by strong participation from CEOs and board members of leading oil, gas, biofuel, and renewable technology companies. Shri Puri noted that IEW has become a significant platform where industry leaders can interact and discuss opportunities, transcending global geographies.

Highlighting India’s role in the global energy landscape, Shri Puri noted that India is expected to account for 25% of incremental global oil demand over the next two decades. He emphasized that the country’s growth extends beyond exploration and production to include substantial developments in biofuels.

Shri Puri acknowledged the technological innovations showcased at India Energy Week 2024, expressing deep admiration for the efforts exhibited by both large companies and individual entrepreneurs.

Addressing the future of energy in India, Shri Puri predicted substantial growth in ethanol, biofuels, compressed biogas, and green hydrogen. He emphasized that India’s estimates for green hydrogen production may be an underestimation, given the rapid advancements in the sector.

Pankaj Jain, Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, highlighted India’s transformation from being just a market to a hub for global energy companies, with many establishing back offices, employing thousands of experts, and setting up manufacturing facilities.

The closing ceremony also featured the Energy Startup Challenge awards, with Iron Technologies securing the first prize, Vasitara Private Limited as the runner-up, and Aloe Ecell receiving the third place. The recognition celebrated innovative startups contributing to the energy sector.
