Subhadra Shakti Mela 2025 Brings India’s Women Entrepreneurs Under One Roof

Bhubaneswar: The “Subhadra Shakti Mela 2025,” Odisha’s annual celebration of women’s entrepreneurship, has returned with renewed vibrancy, showcasing talent and craftsmanship from across the country. What began as a state-level exhibition has now evolved into a national event, uniting women entrepreneurs from nine other states and highlighting India’s diverse cultural heritage.
Participants from Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Punjab, West Bengal, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and Assam have joined hands with Odia artisans to transform the fairground into a colourful display of India’s artistic traditions. With every stall offering a unique glimpse into regional craftsmanship, the event has quickly become a major attraction for city residents.
From Odisha’s intricate handicrafts to Punjab’s vibrant phulkari textiles, Telangana’s ikat prints, Assam’s eri silk, and Gujarat’s khadi cotton—each state pavilion has emerged as a favourite among visitors. Jharkhand’s tassar silk and terracotta art, Madhya Pradesh’s chanderi and zari-work sarees, and West Bengal’s designer blouses and batik creations have further added to the charm. By the end of the third day, total sales had surpassed ₹1.02 crore, reflecting the event’s growing popularity and commercial success.
Beyond shopping, the fair has also turned into a hub of culture and entertainment. The evenings have been filled with performances that celebrate Odisha’s rich traditions—featuring the dynamic Ranapa dance by Har Gouri Ranapa Nritya Parishad, a unique paired conch recital, and soulful renditions by singer Ashutosh Mohanty and his troupe. Together, they have infused the exhibition with energy, artistry, and cultural pride.
