Bhubaneswar: The Subhadra Shakti Mela 2025 continues to draw massive crowds at Janata Maidan, Bhubaneswar, showcasing Odisha’s rich craftsmanship, heritage, and the growing influence of women-led entrepreneurship. The nine-day fair, featuring over 300 stalls, has become a vibrant platform for Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and Producer Groups (PGs) to display an array of handlooms, handicrafts, organic produce, processed food, spices, and wellness products. Among the major attractions, the food court has emerged as a crowd favorite, serving authentic Odia cuisine prepared by SHGs from across the state.

Similarly, the Macha Ambila, a traditional fish delicacy prepared by Diganta Pariba WSHG, served over 700 visitors, underscoring the appeal of homegrown SHG-led food enterprises.

Adding to the excitement, renowned Odia actress Anu Choudhury visited the mela, interacting with SHG members and appreciating the variety of products on display. She lauded the craftsmanship and entrepreneurial efforts of Odisha’s women and encouraged visitors to support local businesses. As a token of her admiration, she purchased a handwoven stole from Utkal Grameen Producer Group, Kendrapara, and tribal jewelry from Maa Banadurga SHG, Nabarangpur, further endorsing the talent and dedication of SHG entrepreneurs.

The evening cultural performances added a mesmerizing charm to the event.
