Subhadra Grievance Module Launched to Strengthen Women’s Welfare in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: In a major push for transparency and accountability in its flagship women’s welfare scheme, the Odisha government on Friday launched the Subhadra Grievance Module, a digital platform that will directly address complaints and ensure that no eligible woman is left out of the Subhadra Yojana.

Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, who unveiled the portal, said the module was designed to “make the system more inclusive, responsive, and transparent.” She assured that every grievance filed through the portal would be examined on priority and resolved within a time-bound framework.

Through the module, beneficiaries can file complaints online, monitor their status, and apply for reinclusion if excluded earlier. Complaints will be scrutinized first at the block level before being forwarded to district or municipal committees for a final decision. Updates on applications will be available to beneficiaries through the Subhadra portal.

Highlighting the scale of the scheme, officials revealed that so far more than 1.09 crore applications have been registered, directly benefiting over one crore women. At present, over 2.83 lakh grievances are under review, all of which will be processed through the new system.

The launch event was attended by senior officials including Monisha Banarjee, Director of Women and Child Development; Pradeep Kumar Rout, CEO of OCAC; and Krittibas Rout, Additional Secretary of the department.

As the scheme approaches its first anniversary on September 17, the state government has also planned celebratory programmes across 348 CDPO units. Events will be held at every Anganwadi centre across Odisha until October 15, reflecting the widespread reach and impact of the Subhadra Yojana.
