SBI Foundation Launches ‘SBI Sanjeevani’ Mobile Medical Unit in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: In a collaborative effort between Gram Vikas and SBI Foundation, Joe Madiath, Chairman of Gram Vikas, and Sanjay Prakash, Managing Director of SBI Foundation, officially inaugurated the ‘SBI Sanjeevani,’ a Mobile Medical Unit, in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The initiative is an integral part of the Gram Seva program, SBI Foundation’s flagship initiative.

Liby Johnson, Executive Director of Gram Vikas, graced the ceremony alongside other dignitaries. The ‘SBI Sanjeevani’ initiative seeks to bring primary healthcare services directly to the doorsteps of rural communities in the Kalahandi District.

The mobile medical unit will consist of a dedicated medical team comprising qualified nurses and support staff. It will embark on regular visits to remote villages, organizing camps to deliver essential primary healthcare services.

Speaking at the event, Sanjay Prakash stated, “Gram Vikas has always been committed to contributing to the development of a strong rural India. Gram Seva is a pivotal program in this endeavor, where we have collaborated with grassroots NGOs like Gram Vikas to bring comprehensive development to remote villages across the country. Today, I am delighted to flag off the mobile medical unit, which will address the primary healthcare needs of rural communities in the Kalahandi district.”

Emphasizing the significant impact of the initiative, Liby Johnson, Executive Director of Gram Vikas, noted, “This initiative will significantly benefit rural communities residing in the distant and remote areas of the district by addressing their primary healthcare needs regularly.” The ‘SBI Sanjeevani’ Mobile Medical Unit stands as a testament to the commitment of Gram Vikas and SBI Foundation to enhance healthcare accessibility in rural regions.
