Rohit, Virat back in T20 team against Afghanistan series

Bhubaneswar: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a 16-member team for the upcoming T20 series against Afghanistan. Regular captain Rohit Sharma is set to lead the team in the shortest format while Virat Kohli also has made a come back into the T20 squad after more than a year. Both of them had last played T20 international for India in the T20 world cup in 2022 against England in the semifinal played at Australia. The team also include Jitesh Sharma and Sanju Samson as wicket keepers.

Afghanistan are visiting India to play 3 T20 matches at Mohali, Indore and Bengaluru on January 11, 14 and 17 respectively. This is going to be the last T20 series for India before the 2024 World Cup which is slated to be held in West Indies and USA in June this year.
