New Delhi: Around 250 Chairpersons of Primary Agricultural Credit Society (PACS) from 24 States and 2 Union Territories have been invited as “Special Guests” by the Government of India to witness the Republic Day Parade 2024 at Kartavyapath. This initiative, coordinated by the Ministry of Cooperation and the Ministry of Defence, aims to recognize the significant role of cooperative societies in the country.

Under the leadership of Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah, the Ministry of Cooperation has undertaken over 54 initiatives to realize Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of “Sahakar se Samriddhi.” One of the major initiatives is the “Computerization of PACS” project, with a total financial outlay of Rs. 2,516 Crores. Currently underway, this project aims to computerize 63,000 PACS across the country.

Over 12,000 PACS have already been computerized in 28 States and Union Territories, with the use of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software developed by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD).

During their stay in Delhi, the Special Guests will have the opportunity to interact with the Minister of State for Cooperation, Shri B. L. Verma, on January 25, followed by a dinner. On January 26, after witnessing the Republic Day Parade, they will participate in “Bharat Parva” in the evening.

The Ministry of Cooperation is dedicated to ensuring a memorable experience for the Special Guests, showcasing the success of the “Computerization of PACS” project, and inspiring PACS to contribute actively to the vision of ‘Sahakar se Samriddhi.’ This initiative recognizes the pivotal role of cooperative societies in the country’s economic development.
