Ravi Shastri to Establish Cricket Coaching Centre in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Former Indian cricket team coach, Ravi Shastri, is set to make a significant contribution to the cricketing landscape in Odisha by establishing the largest private cricket coaching unit in the eastern region of India. The state-of-the-art cricket coaching centre is slated to be inaugurated on April 1, 2024, at the MGM School of Sports in Athagarh, located in Odisha’s Cuttack district.

The announcement was made by Pankaj Lochan Mohanty, the director of the MGM School of Sports, during a press conference held in Athagarh today. According to Mohanty, Ravi Shastri has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on this cricket coaching venture.

The MGM School of Sports, which already boasts top-notch facilities for sports enthusiasts, will host the proposed cricket coaching centre. This initiative aims to provide high-quality coaching to budding cricketers in the region at an affordable cost. The establishment of such a comprehensive cricket coaching unit is expected to enhance the cricketing infrastructure in Odisha and provide aspiring cricketers with access to world-class training facilities.

It is worth noting that the MGM School of Sports had received the endorsement of former cricketer Suresh Raina, who inaugurated a stadium on its premises in February last year. With the addition of Ravi Shastri’s coaching centre, the school aims to further enrich the cricketing ecosystem in Odisha, nurturing young talents and contributing to the overall development of the sport in the region.
