
Bhubaneswar: Ravenshaw University, situated in Cuttack, Odisha, has been awarded with an A++ grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) of the University Grants Commission (UGC) in a recent evaluation.
A five-member NAAC team conducted an extensive assessment during their visit to the university from November 20 to 22. The university has earned a commendable final grade point of 3.58, indicating the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and overall development.
The NAAC evaluation covered various crucial aspects, and Ravenshaw University received impressive grade points across different categories. Notably, the university scored 3.73 in curricular aspects, 3.19 in teaching-learning and evaluation, 3.5 in research, innovations, and extension, 3.85 in infrastructure and learning resources, 3.75 in student support and progression, 3.58 in governance, leadership, and management, and an outstanding 3.91 in institutional values and best practices.
An official from Ravenshaw University shared, “The NAAC team thoroughly examined the teaching environment and other facilities for students on our campus. Their awarding of an A++ grade reflects their careful assessment of all these aspects.”
The announcement of the prestigious A++ grade sparked celebrations among students, with hundreds gathering in front of the Ravenshaw Vice-Chancellor’s office to express their joy and pride in the university’s achievement.
Established by the Britishers in 1868 as Ravenshaw College, the institution attained autonomous status in the 1990s and eventually elevated to the status of a unitary university in 2006.
