Raksha Rajya Mantri Ajay Bhatt Reviews Missile Technologies at DRDO’s Kalam Missile Complex

Hyderabad: Raksha Rajya Mantri Shri Ajay Bhatt conducted a comprehensive visit to the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Missile Complex in Hyderabad on January 14, 2024. During the visit, he meticulously reviewed the ongoing missile technologies and related programs, with a special focus on the advancements made at the Research Centre Imarat (RCI).

Sri U Raja Babu, the Director General of Missiles & Strategic Systems (DG(MSS)), provided a detailed briefing to the Raksha Rajya Mantri on various technological developments. The Lab Directors of DRDL, ASL, and RCI took the opportunity to explain critical systems and technologies they have developed to enhance the nation’s defense capabilities.

In his address, the Raksha Rajya Mantri emphasized the importance of tapping into the knowledge and infrastructure base of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) by MSMEs and private industries. He highlighted that such collaboration could lead to the establishment of a self-reliant defense industrial ecosystem in the country. Additionally, he urged DRDO to aspire to become a global leader in exporting cutting-edge weapon systems to other nations, emphasizing that defense considerations now extend beyond land, sea, and sky, encompassing space as well.

During his visit, the Raksha Rajya Mantri witnessed a display showcasing missile systems and critical technologies developed indigenously by DRDO establishments. He took the opportunity to congratulate DRDO scientists for their recent successful missions, including AGNI-PRIME, AKASH, AKASH-NG, VSHORADS, PRALAY, and more. Commending the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Missile Complex for indigenising state-of-the-art technologies, he applauded their contribution to strengthening the defence industrial base, aligning with the national goal of “Atmanirbhar Bharat” (self-reliant India).
