
New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh engaged in a bilateral meeting with the Netherlands Defence Minister, Ms Kajsa Ollongren, in New Delhi. The discussions primarily focused on opportunities to expand bilateral defence cooperation, with special emphasis on the maritime and industrial sectors. Both ministers acknowledged the heightened collaboration between their navies and expressed a shared commitment to bolster maritime security in the Indian Ocean Region.
During the meeting, Raksha Mantri Singh proposed the integration of Indian vendors into the supply chains of Dutch Original Equipment Manufacturers. He highlighted India’s vibrant innovation and industrial ecosystem and emphasized the potential for collaboration, given the complementary strengths of both nations in skills, technology, and scale. The leaders mutually agreed to foster increased interactions between the defence industries, particularly in high-tech sectors such as semiconductors and clean energy.
The bilateral discussions reflect the growing strategic partnership between India and the Netherlands, aiming to enhance defence ties and explore mutually beneficial opportunities for cooperation in key sectors.
