Rajasthan Royals wins by 12 runs against Delhi Capitals

Jaipur: In a thrilling encounter at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, the Rajasthan Royals emerged victorious over the Delhi Capitals by a margin of 12 runs during the 9th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) season.

Delhi Capitals won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Bating first the Rajasthan Royals faced a slow start but rallied strongly to set a formidable total of 185 at the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. Spearheaded by the impressive innings of Riyan Parag, who remained unbeaten on 84*, supported by valuable contributions from Ashwin (29) and a quick cameo from Hetmyer (14), the Royals put up a competitive score.

In response, the Delhi Capitals commenced their chase with determination but fell short, managing to score 175 runs in their pursuit of the target. Despite a spirited effort, they were unable to overcome the challenge posed by the Rajasthan Royals’ bowlers.

With this win Rajastha Royal have secured second rank with 4 points.
