Bhubaneswar: In view of the surge in COVID-19 cases in the state, Puri Collector Samarth Verma  informed that the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri will remain closed for devotees from January 10 till January 31. All the rituals will continue as usual.

It has been decided in a meeting between Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) and Chhatisa Nijoga, this evening.

The decision to close the temple for the devotees was taken after several employees of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) and servitors have tested positive for COVID-19, informed Verma.
