
Bhubaneswar: In view of surge in COVID-19 cases, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Thursday issued fresh guidelines for air passengers coming from other states and countries.
As per the fresh guidelines, the RTPCR testing is mandatory for all travelers deboarding at Biju Patnaik International Airport. This will be implemented from January 7, 2022 till further order.
All the passengers coming from other states and countries will undergo RT-PCR test at the testing facility provided by the BMC.
The RT-PCR test will be also done on passengers who received double doses of COVID vaccine or in possession of RT-PCR negative report.
The travelers whose destination is Bhubaneswar shall have to isolate himself/herself at home till the RT-PCR test result is communicated to him/her by the BMC. In case, the passenger tests positive for COVID-19, usual protocol for positive cases will be followed.
The Director of BPIA will facilitate the BMC in installing the testing facility and ensure adherence of the COVID guidelines strictly.
