London: Princess Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, has bravely shared about being diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy treatment. In January she had an abdominal surgery following which the presence of cancer was detected.
The Duchess’s condition was disclosed in a poignant video message recorded on Wednesday and broadcasted on Friday. This announcement comes after weeks of speculation on social media about her health and whereabouts since her hospitalisation in January for unspecified abdominal surgery.
Kate Middleton appealed for “time, space, and privacy” as she undergoes treatment for an unspecified type of cancer discovered after her surgery. Despite the challenging circumstances, she expressed optimism, stating, “I am well. I am getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal.”
The Duchess, aged 42, had not been seen publicly since Christmas until recent video footage reportedly showed her alongside her husband, Prince William, the heir to the throne, walking near their Windsor home.
Kensington Palace had provided limited details about Kate’s condition, stating it was not cancer-related, the surgery was successful, and her recovery would necessitate her absence from public duties until April.
