Bhubaneswar: The eagerly awaited visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Odisha’s capital on February 10 has been postponed, as reported by sources.
The rescheduling comes in the wake of the upcoming two-day national convention of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) scheduled to take place in New Delhi. The decision to postpone the Prime Minister’s visit was necessitated by the party’s strategic move to hold the national council meeting on February 16, followed by a national executive committee meeting spanning February 17 and 18.
Initially, the Prime Minister was slated to address a substantial gathering of women from 20 states in the state capital on February 10. However, the altered political calendar prompted the adjustment of the program.
The specific date for the rescheduled visit by the Prime Minister to the state is anticipated to be finalized in the third week of February. While February 21 or 22 are currently under consideration as potential dates for his participation in the women’s convention, no official confirmation has been issued.
The BJP has orchestrated two national conventions for women, one in Bhubaneswar and the other in Bhopal, with both events earmarked for an address by the Prime Minister.
