Prime Minister Modi Meets Ukrainian President Zelenskyy in Kyiv; Four Key Agreements Signed

Kyiv: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, today at the historic Maryinskyi Palace in Kyiv, marking a significant moment in bilateral relations between India and Ukraine. The meeting, which focused on strengthening ties and addressing key regional and global issues, resulted in the signing of four major agreements aimed at enhancing cooperation in various sectors.

Upon his arrival at Maryinskyi Palace, Prime Minister Modi was warmly welcomed by President Zelenskyy, setting the stage for in-depth discussions on a wide range of topics. Both leaders expressed their commitment to deepening the strategic partnership between India and Ukraine, with a focus on economic, humanitarian, and cultural collaboration.

Following the high-level talks, a Joint Statement was released, outlining the shared vision of the two nations in addressing mutual challenges and opportunities on the global stage.

The meeting culminated in the signing of four significant agreements:

  1. Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Agriculture and Food Industry – Aimed at enhancing collaboration in agriculture, this agreement focuses on improving food security, agricultural research, and trade in food products between the two nations.
  2. Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Cooperation in the Field of Medical Products Regulation – This MoU seeks to streamline regulatory frameworks for medical products, facilitating smoother trade and access to healthcare solutions in both countries.
  3. MoU on Indian Humanitarian Grant Assistance for High Impact Community Development Projects – Through this agreement, India will provide humanitarian grants for community development projects in Ukraine, contributing to long-term recovery and rebuilding efforts in the country.
  4. Programme for Cultural Cooperation for 2024-2028 – This programme aims to foster cultural exchanges between India and Ukraine, strengthening people-to-people ties through collaborative cultural projects over the next four years.

The agreements underscore India’s commitment to expanding its engagement with Ukraine across multiple sectors, from agriculture and healthcare to humanitarian aid and cultural cooperation.

The meeting between Prime Minister Modi and President Zelenskyy marks a pivotal moment in the growing partnership between the two nations, with both leaders reaffirming their dedication to working together on issues of global importance.
