Prime Minister Modi Lays Foundation Stone for 300 MW Solar Power Plant in Rajasthan

Bikaner:  In a significant step towards achieving India’s renewable energy capacity targets and the goal of achieving Net Zero by 2070, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the foundation stone laying ceremony for a 300 MW Solar Power Plant in Karnisar-Bhatiyan village, Poogal Tehsil, Bikaner, Rajasthan. The Ministry of New & Renewable Energy, Government of India, has provided Viability Gap Funding (VGF) of ₹ 134.70 crores to support the project. The solar power plant is scheduled for commissioning by September 2024 and is anticipated to create employment opportunities for around 600 individuals indirectly during the project phase and 100 personnel during the Operations & Maintenance phase.
