Prime Minister Modi Launches First-Ever National Creators Award at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi

New Delhi: In a historic moment at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented the inaugural National Creators Award, acknowledging outstanding contributions across various domains. The ceremony marked a significant effort to recognize excellence in fields such as storytelling, social change advocacy, environmental sustainability, education, gaming, and more. The awards aim to harness creativity for driving positive change and inspire content creators to make a lasting impact.

Addressing the audience, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the significance of Bharat Mandapam, chosen for the event, emphasizing that it symbolizes the convergence of national and global leaders at the G20 Summit. He stressed the nation’s responsibility to adapt to changing times and embrace a new era, noting that the National Creator Awards play a pivotal role in giving identity to this transformative phase.

The Prime Minister expressed confidence that the awards would influence the future positively, energizing the new era and acknowledging the creativity and sensitivity of the youth. Congratulating the winners, he acknowledged the active participation of over 2 lakh creative minds, stating that their collective efforts are shaping the identity of the nation.

On the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivratri, Prime Minister Modi drew parallels with Lord Shiva, hailed as the creator of language, art, and creativity. He extended his best wishes to everyone and applauded the women creators, recognizing their significant role in India’s creative landscape.

Acknowledging the role of Digital India in transforming the content creation landscape, Prime Minister Modi commended the youth for their positive actions, urging them to bring inspiration through their work. He emphasized that content creators are the “MVPs of the internet” and encouraged them to use their creativity to address societal issues.

The Prime Minister touched upon various aspects of content creation, including the importance of creating awareness on environmental issues, mental health, and stress among children. He urged content creators to focus on local languages and praised their ability to innovate and bring ideas to life on screen.

Highlighting the multiplier effect of government schemes and policies, Prime Minister Modi credited the Digital India campaign for providing content creators with new opportunities. He encouraged them to engage with society and bring out the inherent strength of India’s disabled population through their content.

Addressing the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Modi expressed confidence in meeting content creators next year and urged them to create awareness among the youth and first-time voters. He emphasized the role of democracy in shaping India’s future and urged the youth to contribute to making India a model for the world.

Speaking about India’s global influence, Prime Minister Modi urged content creators to become digital ambassadors, showcasing India’s stories, culture, heritage, and traditions to the world. He emphasized the need to engage with the global audience and create content in UN languages to amplify reach.

Prime Minister Modi concluded by acknowledging India’s power of creativity, stating that content creators have the potential to take the country’s branding to new heights nationally and internationally. He congratulated everyone on the occasion and praised the efforts of the jury in selecting the winners from over 2 lakh applicants.

Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw, was also present at the event.

The National Creators Award witnessed exceptional public engagement, with over 1.5 lakh nominations and 10 lakh votes cast in various award categories. The overwhelming participation reflects the people’s choice, making the award a true reflection of public sentiment.

The awards were presented across twenty categories, honoring creators who have made significant contributions in their respective fields. The ceremony marked a milestone in recognizing and celebrating India’s vibrant and diverse creative talent
