
Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the permanent campus of the Indian Institutes of Management (IIM) at Basantpur in Sambalpur. The event was attended by dignitaries including Odisha Governor Raghubar Das, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Railway Minister Aswini Vaishnaw, and Minister Biseswar Tudu.
The newly constructed campus boasts cutting-edge infrastructure, featuring modern facilities such as auditoriums, libraries, sports zones, incubation centers, and hostels. The design of the campus is tailored to cater to the administrative, faculty, and academic requirements while prioritizing sustainability.
During the ceremony, Prime Minister Modi also inaugurated 18 additional projects in the Sambalpur district, collectively valued at nearly Rs. 69,000 crore. A significant portion, approximately Rs. 58,000 crore, is allocated for coal and power projects. The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for several other projects in Odisha before proceeding to Assam. The projects aim to contribute to the socio-economic development of the region and enhance the overall infrastructure landscape.
