Prime Minister Modi Donates BHISHM Cubes to Ukraine for Humanitarian Assistance

New Delhi: In a gesture of solidarity and humanitarian support, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today presented four BHISHM (Bharat Health Initiative for Sahyog, Hita & Maitri) Cubes to the Government of Ukraine. The donation was made during an official handover, where Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed his gratitude to the Indian Prime Minister for the timely assistance, which will aid in the swift treatment of those injured during ongoing crises.

The BHISHM Cubes, designed to offer rapid first-line medical care in emergency situations, are packed with critical medicines and equipment for treating various injuries. Each Cube is equipped with surgical instruments capable of supporting a basic operation room that can conduct 10-15 surgeries per day. The Cubes are designed to manage up to 200 cases involving trauma, bleeding, burns, fractures, and other medical emergencies.

Additionally, the Cubes have the ability to generate their own limited supply of power and oxygen, making them self-sufficient in disaster zones or during extended power outages. To ensure seamless use of the technology, a team of Indian medical experts has been dispatched to provide hands-on training to Ukrainian healthcare workers on operating the BHISHM Cubes.

Prime Minister Modi emphasized that this assistance underscores India’s commitment to international cooperation and humanitarian aid. The provision of BHISHM Cubes is part of India’s ongoing effort to provide meaningful support to Ukraine, with the focus on saving lives and improving medical outcomes in conflict-affected areas.
