President Murmu Confers Sports and Adventure Awards 2024 at Rashtrapati Bhavan

New Delhi : President of India, Droupadi Murmu, today presented the prestigious Sports and Adventure Awards 2024 during a grand ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The awards celebrate the exceptional achievements of athletes, coaches, institutions, and adventurers who have contributed significantly to their respective fields.

The awards presented included:

  • Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Awards-2024, the highest honor for outstanding performances in sports.
  • Dronacharya Awards-2024, recognizing exceptional coaching talent.
  • Arjuna Awards-2024, celebrating individual excellence in various sports disciplines.
  • Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Awards-2023, honoring courage and achievements in adventure sports.
  • Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Puruskar-2024, acknowledging contributions to the promotion and development of sports.
  • Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Trophy-2024, awarded to universities excelling in sports.

The ceremony was attended by prominent dignitaries, including Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Anurag Thakur, and other senior officials.

In her address, President Murmu congratulated the awardees for their dedication and contributions, stating, “You are an inspiration to millions of aspiring sportspersons and adventurers in our nation. Your achievements embody the spirit of perseverance and excellence, which will undoubtedly motivate future generations.”
